Trying to improve the Slab City Residents Quality of Life

Hi there. My name is Jeremiah, and I am trying to find people in the Palm Springs area who are willing to help me organize bi weekly supply runs To Slab City. I realize the reputation that the Slabs has, but they are human beings living in 3rd world conditions just 2 hours south of here, and just the stuff on the curb here alone would make a difference in their quality of life. I was hoping to find someone with a large truck willing to drive down there about every other week, someone with a staging area to gather the free stuff off of Craigslist for the runs, people willing to work the social media angle to gather supplies, etc... They really don't need much down there. The only things that would actually cost money would be non perishable food items, medicine, building supplies, kids toys, etc... I am working on a YouTube channel based around the travel Counter Culture in America and feel inspired to work on some community building while I'm in each location. I won't be in this area for more than another month, but the population drops from about 4k to 150 then in the Slabs anyways. I am not trying to be in charge of any money, but would rather be a help setting up the infrastructure, so that people can donate the supplies and items needed without ever wondering if someone was using the volunteer angle to trick people out of money.
