Dingo Doggies is a dog behavioral school looking for a new addition to our incredible team. We have been in business for over 7 years and work with between 30-50 dogs each day. There is no other dog care business in Southern California doing what we are doing. We are also currently in the midst of a large expansion and need another addition to our team who is hard working, has great initiative and would like to build a career working with dogs. This is not a position like those offered in other dog daycares. We will be asking much more of you, and our team members bring their A game every day. We will be asking you to memorize 75 – 100 clients (dogs), their names, their owner’s names, their history, triggers, and many other specifics. We will train you to look for specific body language and signs to prevent incidents before they happen. You will learn how tell if a dog is anxious, nervous, dominant, submissive, pushy, fearful and how to work with dogs on an individual basis based on their personality. There is 2 weeks of intense training. During this time, the rate is $15/hr. After the 2 weeks of training, the owners and managers will have an assessment to determine if you are ready to graduate to an actual trainer position. Please note, there is no guarantee you will move into the trainer position, however we are hoping to find a great candidate that will be able to move into that position quickly. Once in a trainer position, the pay starts at $17/hr and rises as your skill level rises. The maximum rate for a trainer position is $19/hr, however we also will be in need of more managers in the future as well. Please note, it normally takes a couple years to get to the maximum rate. Those who do not graduate into the trainer position will be offered to stay on as an assistant to the trainers at $15/hr. There may or may not be another chance to try for a trainer position. We need someone that can commit to us as their main job and will not be able to schedule according to any other job commitments you may have and need someone with open availability. However, we have no problem if you have another source of income in addition to us that you can do around our schedule. That being said, we are very conscious of a healthy work life balance and want our team members to have freedom to be able to make the important events in life such as weddings, family reunions, or other celebrations that may be important to you. The right candidate who is likely to graduate into a trainer position will have the following skills: • Quick on their feet and able to make good judgment in an instant • Ability to pay attention to details / type A personality • Able to stay calm under pressure • Takes initiative and goes above and beyond, especially when working unsupervised • Takes constructive criticism well • Physically able to walk for 1+ hours at a time and lift up to 50lbs • Has open availability and wants to turn this into a career working with animals • Passes a background check and has a crystal clear driving record • Willing to work overtime (1.5 x hourly rate) when needed • Willing to do the not so glamorous parts of working with dogs to keep our facility, equipment and vehicles sanitary at all times. • Experience working with dogs a big plus How to Apply: • Please send a cover letter in the “Message” section when applying to this posting.
