Looking for an Experienced Auto Technician. It would be beneficial if you have a basic understanding of automobile maintenance tasks. Adept and performing oil changes, tire rotations and installing tires. assisting customers with their questions. Core Qualifications •Able to do many minor maintenance tasks unsupervised •Comfortable dealing with customers •Perpetually learning about the auto repair trade Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety shoes, glasses while doing any work • Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks and lifts when in the shop • Unbolt wheels from vehicles and remove them, using lug wrenches and other hand power tools • Seal punctures in tubeless tires by inserting adhesive material onto punctures using hand tools • Reassemble tires onto wheels • Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size and ply • Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels. • Hammer required outer weights onto rims of wheels • Locate punctures in tubeless tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tires in water baths and observing air bubbles . Apply patch to fix punctures. • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects • Rotate tires to different positions on vehicles, using hand tools • Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed • Inflate inner tubes and immerse them in water to locate leaks
