We value diversity and support a positive and welcoming environment where all of our employees can thrive.What you will do: This position performs a wide variety of tasks essential to park operations and the Metro system of nature parks, cemeteries and natural areas. The primary focus of this position will be to interact with the public, assist guests, construct and maintain developed infrastructure, assist with the protection of natural and historic resources, and ensure all guests are aware of all applicable park rules and regulations. This position is assigned a variety of tasks that include, but are not limited to: construction, maintenance, repairs of park and recreational facilities and all associated systems.As a Park Worker in the Parks and Nature department, you will help create a safe and welcoming experience after hours. During the peak visitation season, May to October, your main priorities will be welcoming diverse communities to our region’s premier outdoor recreation areas. During the non-peak visitation season, November to April, you will assist guests, take care of park facilities and make necessary repairs throughout the Parks and Nature system.Experience and Education: High school diploma or GED certificate or sufficient education to demonstrate the ability to read instructions and perform routine math with accuracyCustomer service experience in a public settingMust be 18 years of age or older (drives Metro vehicles and operates machinery/tools)Any combination of experience and/or education that demonstrates the ability to read instructions and perform routine math with accuracyPossession of a valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with assistance and perform strenuous physical laborPreferences: Cashiering experience1 year on-the-job driving experienceBilingual in Spanish or RussianAdditional Requirements:A valid driver's licenseFirst Aid/CPR certification (within two months of hire)To apply:Visit our web site at: for the complete job announcement and a link to our online hiring center.
