Mennonite Village is a well-respected not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) with a 70+ year history. We are currently seeking a Building Maintenance Refurb Specialist to perform a variety of duties related to refurbishment of Village cottages and apartments. Shift: Days - Full Time with Benefits. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Attends weekly refurb schedule meetings and contributes status of work schedule. Reviews and makes recommendations to supervisor on repair or replacement items when cottages or apartment is vacated. Works from “Refurb Worksheet” that lists the selections and customization of the unit generated my Marketing Department. Coordinates work activity on refurbishments of current residents units with resident, coworkers and vendors. Informs supervisor and Facilities Administrative Assistant of materials, equipment needed. Checks for work orders related to her/his assigned area. Assures completion of work order in timely manner and returns order for documentation. Documents work performed. Turns warranty and equipment data in to supervisor for record keeping. Maintains tools and equipment used in performance of duties. Routinely checks on supply inventory and reports on supplies that need to be reordered. Engages in regular inspection of work to monitor both quality and progress. Reports needed improvements to supervisor. Performs duties of Building Maintenance II & III as needed. Supervises others as assigned. Operates vehicles in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Participates in on-call maintenance duty (pager) on rotational basis. Attends in-service educational programs as requested. Request information and/or assistance when needed. Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job. Abides by the HIPAA policies and reports to a supervisor, breaches (or violations) of our HIPAA policies. Immediately reports identified hazards or hazardous conditions to a supervisor. Immediately reports adverse events and near misses to a supervisor. Attends mandatory training on HIPPA and compliance annually. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. QUALIFICATIONS: Supportive of the Mennonite Home philosophy. Possession of High School diploma or equivalent. Five years of experience in construction trades. Demonstrated knowledge of operation of related equipment and processes. Ability to prioritize own work load and remain on task. Ability to hear, see and feel within normal limits. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and reading English. Ability to perform heavy lifting (50 lbs), prolonged standing, walking, working from ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, and twisting. Ability to make decisions, prioritize work load, and respond appropriately to change. Able to follow and understand operation manuals and schematics.
