Description
Unfortunately I'm needing to rehome our African Gray. We just recently got him from someone else (on Craigslist) and everything seemed fine at first. He seemed to be attached to me and was talkative and friendly, but for whatever reason he decided to start biting me. He's very talkative and prior to the initial bite (maybe a week ago) was great with me and everyone else. I gave him some space after he bit me the first time and would give him treats, talk to him, etc... thinking maybe he was just stressed from the move, but he hasn't seemed to come back around to me. He's been fine with my wife holding him, so I'm not sure if it's a male thing or what, but since we got him for me (I'm more the bird guy) we're unable to keep him if he won't let me pick him up.
I've had birds in the past and I've not had one bite me like this, but the birds I've had in the past were all raised by me and younger. He was hatched in June 2007.
He does not pluck or anything like that, but I want to make sure he goes to a home where someone is experienced with these types of birds and can work with him. I have his original paperwork.
I'm not posting him to get your opinions on how or why he bit me. I'm not happy with the fact I bought a bird and after no event he just decided to bite me. If you are interested feel free to call. I will not respond to e-mails and there is a rehoming fee which is going to be the same as what I paid for him a couple weeks ago.
I'm looking to do this sooner than later because I do not want him to be more stressed out with me.
Thanks,
Jonathon
