Rehoming adult cat

Description

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. I am considering rehoming my cat. I adopted him approximately 8 years ago when he was found in the snow crying. He was too little to be taken from mama and had to be nursed a little. He is the sweetest companion and has continued trying to be under my new circumstances. Since I adopted him my life has drastically changed. I found my soulmate and have since had 2 kids. This has caused his quality of life to diminish since he now is in hiding basically all day. He is and has always been skiddish around loud noises and quick movements. Of course my toddler is always loud and quick which scares him into hiding. I feel bad for him and feel like he only has so many years left and they should be spent being cuddled and loved not in hiding from my kids. I have a 7 month old who might be more rambunctious than my toddler since he's a boy and she's a girl. I just don't want him to suffer anymore and I don't see the situation getting any better. I love him and am heartbroken about rehoming him but I feel like it would be selfish of me to not explore a better option for him to have some quality of life. I will only rehome him if there is a better fit for him. I am not trying to get rid of him he just deserves a better life. I'm hoping I might be able to find that for him. Please let me know if you have any questions or think you might be a good fit. I will be asking for a rehoming fee of $50 to insure he will be going to a good home.
