Summary Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Residential Monitor is responsible for monitoring the functional operation of the residential program and facility under the supervision of the Program Manager to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Monitors facilitates supportive interaction with program participants and team members, assessment of participant's needs, and performance of all work duties as required. Essential Functions: • Ensures the safety of participants, guests and property • Monitor visitor activities • Ensure clients observe all fire and other safety measures • Conduct monthly fire drills • Secure and inventories personal possessions of clients who leave the facility. • Assist in the serving of meals as appropriate • Monitor main and secondary entrances to the facility and answer telephones. • Attend all staff meetings and training as directed • Address any behavior issues that create disharmony, criminal, or otherwise • Complete written reports and incident logs of daily activities and irregularities • PPE mask must be worn at all times. May work in sites that are under quarantine. Secondary Functions Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director. Answer phones and route incoming calls; serve as back-up to other Intake Workers in his/her absence. Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required • Must be 18 years of age or older • High School Diploma or equivalent • Must complete live scan/background clearance • TB Clearance required • 1-2 years' experience as a security guard or similar field • Knowledge of basic computer skills • Familiarity with homelessness and related issues a plus • Work a flexible schedule (weekends and evenings) • Good oral and written communication skills • Ability to work effectively under stressful situations • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions • Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and ethical standards and judgement Reliable transportation is required. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally. This position is responsible to work in "client friendly" environments and is required assigned to homeless shelter. Local automobile travel is required. There is some responsibility to work in noisy environments where adults are present. Physical Requirements The Residential Monitor typically spends time sitting, standing, typing, thinking, writing, walking, driving, lifting (max. 50 lbs), listening, speaking. Mental Requirements This position will require the individual to be able to handle an /all of the following: constant distractions, interruptions, uncontrollable changes in priorities I work schedules: be able to process information, think and conceptualize.
