BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs a wide variety of duties in the grain elevator plant. Performs heavy manual labor in most job duties. JOB REQUIREMENTS Must be able to work a flexible schedule (be willing to work overtime, weekend and nights). Must exhibit a regular and prompt attendance,reporting to work on-time and as scheduled. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong ability to multi-task. Exceptional attention to detail. Due to safety guidelines, must be able to understand and speak English ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES Assists in the unloading of rail-cars. Observe conveyor operations and monitor lights,dials, and gauges. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Inform supervisors of equipment malfunctions that need to be addressed. Clean and maintain equipment, machinery, and work stations. Perform general clean-up of plant including sweeping, painting, and other general housekeeping duties. Load, unload, and move material to and from storage areas as needed. Load trucks with product using front-end loaders and transfer augers. Maintain storage areas to ensure inventory is protected. Helps with the daily rail-car movement. Works the ground to spot rail-cars on the correct tracks. Operate rail switches. Operate rail-car hand brakes. Perform all job duties and related tasks in an efficient and timely manner. Practice and encourage workplace safety. Other duties as assigned.
