OVERVIEW: The pedal team is responsible for enhancing the Park visitor experience by providing friendly and engaging customer service in an amusement park setting. The team maintains and operates the Hermann Park pedal boats by consistently following all safety rules, regulations, and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operate boats in a safe manner: visually inspect each boat to insure sea worthiness, select proper sized vest and assist riders putting on vests, verbally give safety and operational instructions to every passenger, and enforce the four passengers per boat limitation. • Clean, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on pedal boats. • Inspect boats to detect wear and damage and perform minor repairs and drain boats as needed • Legibly record identification, inspect receipts, and utilize boat log to record each responsible party for all boat departures. • Provide assistance to guests boarding and disembarking pedal boats. • Monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures, or arrange for the removal of unruly guests • Maintain a consistently clean environment by cleaning boats, removing trash lake and boat wells, and picking up debris around desk and docks. • Respond to emergency situations effectively and report any collisions and accidents to management in a timely manner. • Monitor and report unsafe conditions to management promptly. • Treat every visitor as a guest by providing outstanding customer service and engagement. Come to work on time ready to serve the guests. Demonstrate positive body language, good hygiene, and proper dress • Acknowledge every guest with a smile, eye contact, and warm verbal greeting • Show every guest appreciation by thanking them and inviting them to return Salary and Hours: $10.00 per hour; Part-time, 15-25 hours per week depending on business conditions; Hours of Operation: 10:00 a.m. - 6 p.m., seven days a week; must be able to work weekends and holidays; Flexible hours are available for students. Great job for a retiree, as well. Qualifications: Applicants must be 16 years or older; Consistently demonstrate high levels of customer service skills; Attention to detail; Must follow multiple safety rules at all times; Outgoing personality and ability to work with children and families; Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat; Ability to stand for long periods of time; Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.; All employees must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
