Organic Vegetable Farm Hiring!

We are a small organic vegetable farm producing high quality food for our local community. We seek a few hard working, agile, and self motivated people to help with growing and harvesting a diversity of crops this year. The season begins with hand transplanting, stick hoeing, finger weeding, and wheel hoeing. Once the harvest begins, we transition to morning weeding followed by harvesting. By late summer thru late fall, we will typically spend the day harvesting. This can be a very fulfilling and community building experience for people who enjoy being outdoors, working hard, and learning (or fine tuning) the ability to grow an abundance of different foods. In order for it to work well for all involved, You must *Be available and committed to working Mon, Wed, Fri, & every other Sun from 730-330. (Specific hours vary thru the season, but availability between these hours is necessary) (More days and hours are often available but not mandatory). *Be able to bend, squat, crawl, lift/carry up to 30# comfortably, and find joy within! *Not have any long trips planned between May and October. A couple short absences can work but will need a couple weeks notice.. *Willing and able to work in a variety of weather conditions. *Be able to keep a positive disposition with others and respect diversity. *Not be hungover.. (The work and sun are not compatible) Some experience is helpful but not necessary. We start people at $15/hr but quickly give raises as their ability and efficiency grows. After a few weeks to a month pass, if a person's performance doesn't warrant higher pay, we likely cant keep them. Most people make $18-20/hr. plus produce. We like to build community on the farm while feeding the community at large.
