BROTHERS Jazz Series featuring Kirk Whalum The BROTHERS Jazz Series continues with internationally-acclaimed artist Kirk Whalum. Kirk is an American jazz saxophonist and songwriter. He toured with Whitney Houston for more than seven years and soloed in her single "I Will Always Love You", the best-selling single by a female artist in music history. He was also featured on many Luther Vandross albums, most often playing on the singer's covers of older pop and R&B standards such as "Anyone Who Had a Heart", "I (Who Have Nothing)", and "Love Won't Let Me Wait". Whalum has recorded a series of well received solo albums and film soundtracks, with music ranging from pop to R&B to smooth jazz. His musical accomplishments have brought him a total of 12 Grammy nominations. He won his first Grammy award in 2011 for Best Gospel Song ("It's What I Do", featuring Lalah Hathaway) alongside lifelong friend and writer Jerry Peters. Whalum will entertain guests on May 13, 14, and 15 during two dining sessions each night at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. as well as 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on May 16. Sessions occur upstairs in The Loft. Guests must be able to navigate stairs. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only 38 reservations are available per dining session, and reservations must be booked in pairs in advance. Of the reservations available, 12 high-top tables (2 guests per table), and there are 7 Couples Couches (2 guests per couch). Dinner reservations are $100 per person and include a choice of appetizer or salad, dessert, and an entrée choice from the following: Meal Selections (You will be contacted one week before the event for meal selections) Dry Seasoned NY Strip | Finished with Garlic Butter and your choice of a side Lump Crab Cakes| Mushroom Risotto| Roasted Broccolini Blackened Salmon | Mashed Potatoes | Maple Glazed Brussel Sprouts Herb Roasted Half Chicken | Finished in a Pan Herb Sauce | Mashed Potatoes| Sautéed Spinach Vegan Ragu Couples Couch reservation is $60 per person and includes an appetizer sampler. Alcoholic beverages are not included in the reservation cost. Safe, social distancing protocols will be followed. Reservations are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
