Award winning Modern Sailing School and Club is hiring a parts and inventory specialist! We have been teaching ASA sailing courses and providing charter services since 1983. We are growing rapidly and there are opportunities for career advancement. This position is full time and may require work on weekends. JOB SUMMARY: Working in Sausalito, the Fleet Staff Specialist will be working with all members of the Fleet Team to ensure that we are maintaining a highly reliable, safe and attractive fleet of sailboats. This person will also ensure our customers, boat owners, and instructors are satisfied with the level of care we take in our Fleet. PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE: - Ordering parts for the fleet team as needed and for stock - Weekly inventory upkeep and monthly inventory reporting - Maintaining and organizing fleet storage container, fleet shed and dock box with supplies - Act as a quartermaster assisting fleet team with parts to ensure timely project completion - Preparing all boats to be chartered and ensuring charter-readiness for all boats that will be used that day. - Preparing boats for upcoming special activities. (Multi-day courses or trips, offshore trips, etc.) - pick up and delivery of parts needing repair like torn sails - New boat launch preparation to ensure vessel is ready for charter - Customer service: Assisting customers when necessary. Troubleshooting issues, finding items, securing replacement items for missing or broken items. - Completing a weekly checklist for all boats in the fleet: refueling, topping up freshwater tanks, holding tank pump-out, interior, and exterior cleaning of all boats DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE IN ONE OR MORE OF THESE AREAS: - Parts & Inventory - Sailboat rigging - Fiberglass & Gelcoat Repair - Marine electrical and electronics - Marine carpentry - Brightwork THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS SOMEONE WHO: - is self-motivated, has a great attitude and highly organized - has marine maintenance skills and experience in one or more of our specialty areas - is team oriented and experience working with MS Office (excel, word, outlook) - adapts easily to changing conditions - has sailing or marine experience - parts ordering, procurement and inventory experience Compensation will be based on skills and relevant experience.
