Summary of Job The Facilities Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeping supports the ongoing operations of Spirit Rock events, classes, and retreats. This position performs emergency, and seasonal maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and vehicles and also performs groundskeeping and land care projects as directed. Specific Responsibilities: Facilities Operations: Coordinate and complete maintenance and janitorial projects to meet the needs of all facilities. Fully participate in the support of the logistics for retreats and daylong events (event set-up, parking, breakdown) Recommend maintenance, repairs, safety priorities, and solutions to Facilities Manager Maintain campus cleanliness and perform custodial duties as required Groundkeeper: Help to maintain natural environments including landscaping and the meadow Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas on the campus Care for and cultivating foliage, including pruning, fertilizing, weeding, watering, etc. Schedule and manage vendors to perform necessary tree care and also to maintain a fire defensible space Operate and maintain landscaping tools, backup generators, and Spirit Rock vehicles This workweek is 37.5 hours but this position may be required to work outside of the regular workweek and will be required to work overtime on occasion. Perform other duties as assigned; Qualifications: Three to five years + experience in a similar position(s) Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance, landscaping, grass and field mowing, and tree trimming Work with minimum direct supervision and operate effectively on a team Proficiency with computers and related software and technology including WindowsOS/MS Office/Outlook/Google Docs FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO APPLY, PLEASE CLICK HERE:
