Due to recent uptick in crimes agains the elderly in Oakland Chinatown. I have started a meetup group () to organize meetups of volunteers who want to just walk in groups around Oakland Chinatown. This would be a great way to show unity within the community and provide additional eyes on the neighborhood.
This is open to anyone concerned about the safety of citizens of Oakland Chinatown!
With cell phones in hand we can watch and photograph in an "unconfrontational way" any suspicious activities and report to the police. Our presence alone hopefully can show unity, deter crime and help bring back this peaceful neighborhood!
Grab a bao and bobba and let's stroll in and all around Chinatown during lunch break.
Keep watch while getting some fresh air and exercise!
We will meet at 12 noon and stroll the streets from 12:15 to 1 pm.
Meet at: Pacific Renaissance Plaza Fountain
388 9th St, Oakland, CA 94607
Look for me in black attire with a red and white "Safe!" sticker!
Lets keep Chinatown safe!
NOTE: If you have or want another safety patrol date, message me and I will post your safety patrols.
