Korean lessons for beginners/new learners

Hi! I am providing tutoring/Korean lessons for new learners or beginners who want to learn Korean. I am rooted in the belief that the most effective way to speak a new language is "language acquisition" rather than "learning." Learning is just you sitting at a desk with a Korean textbook and practice tests drilling word matching, reading, and writing but may not translate to any real ability to speak or communicate in Korean. Acquisition mimics the way that we naturally learn language as kids which consists of self-talk, try & fail methods, immersion when possible, and experiences with practical usage. I also teach language by explaining the linguistic roots of Korean and English as much as possible to explain the logic behind the things you are trying to learn/acquire. Korean is one of the hardest languages for native English speakers to learn primarily because our linguistic roots are so incredibly different and we share very little commonalities in grammatical structure and other key parts of our language. My language lessons also contain small bits of Korean culture and history learning which (I believe) can inform and improve your grasp of the language. My rate is 20$/hr (1-hr lessons at a time, with free extra time up to 15min after the hour---you can do 30min lesson for 10$). I offer a sliding scale if you inquire and explain. Due to COVID-19 I am only offering online lessons but if you are/will be fully vaccinated and can provide your COVID-19 vaccine card as proof, I would be willing to do in-home or outdoor/meetup lessons (I will be fully vaccinated soon).
