The Be a Fan Ambassador Tour is a quarterly event that encourages tourism professionals and local residents to explore Shreveport-Bossier. The Be a Fan Ambassador Tour is Tuesday, May 11. This quarterly excursion encourages tourism professionals and local residents to explore all the fun things to do in Shreveport-Bossier. This tour’s theme is Rendezvous on the Red. Participants will be immersed in a full day of experiences located along the banks of the Red River. The tour costs $25, which includes lunch, a guided city tour, and transportation. The tour starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Downtown Shreveport Visitor Center, located at 629 Spring Street. Participants will receive a brief overview of the impact of tourism and then visit attractions, restaurants, retail, and other tourism-related businesses. The ambassador program was designed to give those who work in the hospitality industry, as well as interested residents, an opportunity to learn and experience the impact that tourism has on the local economy and community. This program is sponsored by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. The tours are offered quarterly, and participants graduate and become official ambassadors for the community at the end of the tour. Tour stops will include the Shreveport Aquarium, Sci-port Discovery Center, Us Up North, and C&C Mercantile. Lunch and a mocktail will be provided at the newly opened Fat’s Oyster House in the Red River District. New things are happening in Shreveport’s Caddo Common Park and participants will get a sneak peek and updates on what’s to come. Shreveport-Bossier has so many hidden gems, such as Andress Arts and Entrepreneurial Center. Spaces for this tour are limited. Participants should dress comfortably and arrive at the Downtown Shreveport Visitor Center at 8 a.m.
