Falmouth Election: Just 1 Contested Race After Nominee Withdraws

FALMOUTH, MA — There's been a change to the Falmouth election ballot, and now there will be just one contested race. Housing authority incumbent Patricia Favulli withdrew her nomination papers after Gov. Charlie Baker appointed her as his representative on the Falmouth Housing Authority. This means Michael Galasso will be the only one on the ballot for the five-year term. Favulli will also remain on the board for the next five years. Re appointments at the end of the term are at the discretion of the state. There will still be one contested race in the town election on May 18. Incumbent Select Board member Douglas Jones chose not to seek reelection, so three candidates: Michael Heylin, Onjale Scott Price and Robert Mascali, will compete for the open seat. Heylin is a town meeting member for Precinct 5 and has run for several town positions over the years, including for the Select Board, Planning Board and Falmouth Library Board of Trustees. Price is the chief operating officer for Mizar Imaging in Woods Hole. She also serves on the Woods Hole Diversity Advisory Committee and the Falmouth Affordable Housing Committee.
