The HUB is a rundown of the stories people in Boston are talking about. Patch publishes the HUB every weekday. Good morning, Boston! Today is Tuesday, April 13. We're talking about the only voter in an entire precinct, where to get the best food (yes, the North End, but where in the North End?) and a sweet remembrance of a Boston Marathon legend. But first... Acting Mayor Kim Janey is ordering the release of records from Boston police's 1995 internal investigation into then-officer Patrick Rose — an investigation that concluded he likely molested a 12-year-old boy but the findings of which did nothing to keep Rose from climbing the department ladder to become president of the patrolmen's union. Rose is now accused of indecently assaulting not just that boy, but five other children spanning three decades. The Boston Globe over the weekend revealed the department hid the abuse allegations from 1995, sparking cries for accountability and transparency within the historically tight-lipped department. The story also brought an avalanche of pressure on Janey to have the city release documents pertaining to the investigation. She said yesterday she would following calls from the public and her fellow mayoral candidates. The Boston Globe's Joan Vennochi wrote before Janey's announcement the city needs a mayor "willing to make history by standing up to the police — and standing up for the people's right to know about allegations of police wrongdoing." Check it out Here's a nice change-of-pace story: Danny MacDonald at The Boston Globe searched out Laurel Willis, literally the only registered voter in Boston's Ward 1, Precinct 15. Willis, 25, lives on Thompson Island in Boston Harbor. "Win her vote and you win the precinct," MacDonald wrote. This week's weather looks pretty icky, but Boston Magazine just updated its list of top restaurants in the North End, so I'm morally obligated to share it. A little disappointed Panza didn't make the list, but I'm not ready to knock any of these off, either. "He was my motor, I was his heart". There's a tearjerker of a story by Steve Burton over at CBS Boston about the relationship between Rick and Dick Hoyt, the iconic father-son Boston Marathon duo. Rick remembered his father, who died earlier this year. What I'm reading today: Call me an entitled 30-something Patriots fan, but Julian Edelman made the best Super Bowl play of all time.
