New Orleans Bourbon Street Legend Performs Jazz, Blues and Feel Good Music. ~They loved me - the rest is history~ Pat Cohen
Pat "Mother Blues" Cohen will be one of the many performers to grace the Stage at The Historic Studio 229 on Brevard - HOME OF "THE BROOKLYN COLLECTIVE"
Cohen's blues, full of power and resilience, are the kind that fill you up and make you feel good. She loves to make her audience happy. "It makes me happy to make others happy," she says.
Ever since Cohen was six-years-old, music surrounded her life. Her teachers were her uncles and "class" took place right on the porch of her uncle’s house, with one strumming the guitar and the other playing the harmonica. While in college, Cohen was asked to perform at a local club, with the task of finding three musicians in three days, and organizing a repertoire of 30 songs. A seemingly unfeasible request, Cohen proved herself to be up to the task and became an instant hit with the crowd.
New Orleans was home to Pat, where she performed six nights a week at a wide array of venues including the House of Blues. In 2005, Cohen's world was turned upside down after Hurricane Katrina destroyed her home. Following the awful event, she moved to North Carolina and continues to thrill audiences everywhere she performs.
