Working parents seek a part-time, on call, backup nanny to provide care to their 1-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter. Applicants should have experience with children in this specific age-range. In addition, the family includes four older siblings who are home half of the week and three beloved dogs. The House Manager/nanny will also be responsible for running the household during the day and for occasional overnights with the two youngest children when parents have engagements that are out of town. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Preparing meals/bottle feeding -Bathing -Age-appropriate activities and play -Cooking -Laundry -Light house-keeping -Feeding and watering pets -Errands -pick-up/drop-off from school -house/pet-sitting when family is out of town As you might expect with a large family, it is dynamic. This means that the ideal candidate will be comfortable stepping in if there are arguments between children, or if one of the dogs needs to be calmed when a guest arrives. There will be days when the schedule is subject to change, so flexibility is of the upmost importance. Above all, the right person knows when it's necessary to set aside daily tasks to comfort any bruised egos, dry tears, and help each of the children by taking care of them in a way that you would expect your own children (if applicable) to be taken care of. There is currently a full-time House Manager, and we are looking to find someone who might have kids in school during the weekdays and need occasional additional income in the form of covering for sick days and vacation time of our main nanny.
