DENVER, CO — A man was arrested in connection with a deadly crash Saturday in Denver that left one person dead and a child in critical condition, police said. Patrick Layden, 49, faces vehicular homicide charges, police said. Layden was driving an SUV westbound on West 32nd Avenue, when he passed a vehicle over a double-yellow line and ran a red light at Lowell Boulevard, a probable cause statement shows. He crashed into a Subaru that was northbound on Lowell Boulevard, according to the document. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to crash into multiple parked cars west of the intersection, police said. The driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead, and the child was hospitalized.
