PHILADELPHIA — The 2-year-old Philadelphia boy at the center of an Amber Alert has been found safe following a barricade situation Monday and the boy's father is a suspect in the deaths of the child's mother and grandmother.
Pennsylvania State Police said at about 3:40 p.m. that Byron McDonald, 2, was found safe after he was last seen at about 1:30 p.m. Friday near 2500 North Bancroft Street in Philadelphia.
Police issued the Amber Alert at about 12:30 p.m. Monday.
The boy was reported to have been abducted by his father, Byron McDonald II, 28.
According to NBC10, a barricade situation unfolded at the Aloft Hotel near the Philadelphia International Airport where McDonald, the boy, and a woman were found.
McDonald was taken into custody as he is a suspect in the murders of the boy's mother and grandmother, Action News Reports.
Fox 29 reports the red 2017 Chevrolet Malibu with a license plate reading LMD 3353 and heavily tinted black windows McDonald was driving was found behind the hotel where SWAT teams were conducting a search.
