New Coronavirus Vaccine Site Opening In Round Lake Beach

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A new Lake County coronavirus vaccine site that's set to open next week is looking to vaccinate as many as 5,000 people a day in the coming months. The new location, opening next Tuesday, will be located in the former KMart supercenter store at 400 E Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach and will be open by appointment to everyone who lives or works in Lake County, officials said. "We are thrilled to announce this location for COVID-19 vaccinations, a culmination of extensive planning and collaboration with our partners," Lake County Health Department Executive Director Mark Pfister said in a statement. "This site will improve access for those who live and work in Lake County to receive a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine, the best tool we have to protect our families and communities." Vaccines will be offered Tuesdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. by appointment, officials said. The site will be operated by a collaboration between Baxter, Curative and the Lake County Health Department. Appointments can be made online. The county said those who hve already registered for a vaccine via AllVax and opted in to have their information shared with vaccine partners could be contacted by Curative to schedule an appointment in Round Lake Beach.
