Hope and Friendship Foundation Team Compassion and Next Mex Restaurant will be offering two days to participate in opportunities to offer emotional and financial support to many from Lemont who have been affected by a battle with or loss to cancer. *Hope and Friendship Team Compassion Support Day- Tuesday April 20th & Wednesday April 21st @ Next Mex- 11am-9pm One of the things that Hope and Friendship never cancelled or slowed on over the past year was our support of those in the battle with cancer. Hope and Friendship Team Compassion offers "what we can, as we are able to those in our community whom we can walk with through their battle". **On Tues. April 20th & Wed. April 21st, Next Mex has extended the offer of the generous donation of 15% of all dine in or pick up food orders to Hope and Friendship Team Compassion to use to offer help to our local warriors. **The "Warrior Wall" will make its debut at this event. The "Warrior Wall" will hold hearts with names of those who are in the battle, who have survived their battle, or whom we lift in memory as they have finished their battle as warriors we hold dearly in our hearts. There will be colored hearts (representing different cancer battles) available to add your name or the name of the warrior you wish to commemorate in this tribute. **We will be accepting donations of gift cards (fuel, food, local stores) that we will deliver to the more than 10 friends that we are currently rallying support for. **Links to add to the "Chain of Compassion" will be available for you to write a note on and attach to the growing "Chain of Compassion". We have enjoyed creating this and adding to this through each year and dividing it up and delivering sections of it to friends in their August Mission Stay Care Boxes. **Note cards will be available for you to write uplifting/inspiring/encouraging notes that will also be delivered to our friends. The emotional lift from these notes has been repeatedly expressed to me as a source of great comfort and therapeutic for those "really tough" days. There will be a drop bin for any notes you have worked on, collected, or rallied from anyone whom you know may want to assist us with this act of compassion. Never underestimate the power and strength of a positive word. We will be collecting these notes and delivering them as medicine for the tired spirits of our friends in the battle. **Great community service, individual, or group activity!!! Apr. 21st when you pick up your take out order, or dine in, or just stop by and drop off your notes and/or hang up a "Warrior Wall" heart!
