JOLIET, IL — A 31-year-old Joliet man is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Jordan Moore was firing his gun at another car along the busy stretch of Larkin Avenue and McDonough Street early Sunday morning. Officers captured Moore several minutes later, charging him with aggravated discharge of a gun, aggravated assault, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of controlled substances and several traffic offenses. Around 3:05 a.m. Joliet patrol officers working the overnight shift heard several gunshots near McDonough and South Larkin Avenue. Moments later, officers saw a car speed by without its headlights activated, police said. Officers gave chase and tracked the fleeing car to the 300 block of Purdue Court, in the city's Marycrest Neighborhood area, where the driver hit a parked car, according to police. Moore was the only person in the car and police arrested him without any problems, according to police. "Upon search of Moore's vehicle, officers recovered a handgun and ammunition," police announced. "Upon further search of Moore at the Joliet Police Department, officers recovered a clear plastic bag containing Adderall and Norco pills." Later, Joliet police responded to the city's southeast side in the 400 block of Third Avenue after learning that someone's car was sprayed with bullets. "The driver indicated that the incident occurred around South Larkin Avenue and McDonough Street earlier in the evening," Joliet police said. Moore was booked into the county detention facility around 8:40 a.m. He resides in the 2000 block of Capri Avenue, logs show.
