During Earth Week, join the City of Red Wing and Prairie Island Green Team for a FREE composting workshop! What is composting? Is it difficult? Where do you start? This Earth Week, the City of Red Wing and Prairie Island Green Team have partnered up to create Composting 101, a free introductory workshop to answer those questions and more. Whether you're ready to dive into backyard composting or just want to learn more, discover easy ways to turn food and yard waste into nutrient-rich compost! Three free workshops will be held on Saturday, April 24, at 8:30, 10, and 11:30 a.m. at the Red Wing Waste Campus, 1873 Bench Street. Attendees will be provided with a notebook and writing utensil to take notes throughout the workshop, which will include a 45-minute presentation from Amelia and Lars with the Prairie Island Green Team and a 15-minute question-and-answer session. Due to social distancing and safety requirements, only 12 spots will be available for each workshop and registration is required.
