Class A Mechanic:
Under limited supervision performing repairs and maintenance of vehicles and heavy construction equipment; performs related work as assigned. Hourly position with overtime required on occasions.
DUTIES
Diagnose and repair trucks/vehicles, trailers and construction equipment
Inspections and preventive maintenance
Fleet Maintenance
Road Service
Prepare and maintain records and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
knowledge of:
Methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and construction equipment repair and maintenance Including heavy trucks and equipment of different makes and models
Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs
Electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems
Hydraulic systems
Power Trans
Skills (but not limited to):
Power and hand tools
Diagnostic equipment
Welding
Operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
Ability to:
Have good organizational skills - structure your day and organize efficiently
Diagnose problems and make repairs in the field
Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds
Work in a variety of weather conditions
Establish/maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors etc.
Follow written/verbal instructions, including manufacturers' service specifications
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Minimum qualification:
Three years of experience preferred in vehicle/construction equipment repair and maintenance
Class B CDL License
High School Diploma
MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
Computer skills a plus
