EAGAN, MN— The city of Eagan announced the launch of a new Smart Irrigation Program. The program will help Eagan reduce annual water usage, as well as help residents save money on their irrigation systems, the city said. After signing up, residents will have their irrigation systems evaluated, and later receive a report about the system, the city said. The city will then install the new irrigation systems and teach residents how to use them, the city said. The program is city-sponsored and the city will cover 60 percent of the cost of the new systems, meaning residents will only need to pay a $170 investment fee to participate, the city said. Participants in the program can expect to save money equally what they spent on their investment within a year of installing the new system, the city said. You can apply for the new program here.
