Press release from West Islip School District: April 11, 2021 Bellew Elementary School – including her grandson Anderson Bohrer – to a virtual read-aloud of her picture book "Sofia's Stoop Story: 18th Street, Brooklyn." Following the reading, Bohrer and the students discussed the book, which highlights family connections, storytelling and Italian traditions, and each student went home with a "Sofia's Stoop Story" bookmark. "We were all grateful to Mrs. Bohrer for sharing her beautiful book with the class," said Principal Rhonda Pratt. "The children had a great experience meeting a real author."
