Description

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Trains will not be running between Rockville Centre and Valley Stream two nights this week due to work being done by PSEG Long Island. There will be two four-hour windows, from 11:20 p.m. to 3:40 a.m., when trains will not be running between the two stations along the Babylon Branch. Instead, the MTA will be providing buses along the route. The changes will affect overnight trains from Tuesday to Wednesday, and again from Wednesday to Thursday. PSEG will be doing work along Merrick Road, and will be closing lanes on the roadway. The work will cause changes to departure times for east and and westbound trains, and two trains will be cancelled each night. The MTA said that eastbound riders on the Babylon Branch will have to change trains at Jamaica, in addition to the buses. Riders should allow an additional 45 minutes of travel time.
