Description
Supporters of the 2nd Amendment like the slogan:
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people."
But anti 2nd Amendment folks like to add:
"But people with guns kill people."
But there are millions of gun owners in America who, to the best of my knowledge, have never killed anyone. So to say “people with guns kill people” is like saying people who drive cars are drunk drivers. That lumps the overwhelming number of good drivers in with the few rotten ones. Maybe cars should be banned and that would solve the drunk driver problem.
The Supreme Court, in 2008 ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to keep and bear arms, unconnected with service in a militia, for traditionally lawful purposes, such as hunting, target shooting and self-defense.
Throughout the year, thousands of gun owners go to shooting matches where men, women and young people participate in fun, friendly and safe competition, and no one has any extra holes in them when it’s over.
