SEATTLE — A toddler and three men were hit by gunfire in Seattle's Central District Sunday afternoon, and investigators are still searching for those responsible.
Multiple 911 calls reported shots fired near 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street shortly before 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the suspects approached a parking lot and began firing, striking three men and the 2-year-old child. According to the Seattle Police Department, all four victims were taken to local hospitals before officers and medics arrived.
The Seattle Times reported the toddler remained in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center Sunday night, and two other victims were listed in satisfactory condition. Late Sunday afternoon, police tape was still visible near an AutoZone attached to a strip mall.
A description of the shooting suspects was not immediately available. In a news release, police said crime scene and homicide detectives were processing the scene for evidence and encouraged anyone with information to contact the violent crimes tip line at 206-233-5000.
