Description
Start-up duo looking to form trio. Very close to being ready to play out. Charts, equipment, good book of songs etc. Just looking for a reliable, easy going, competent bass player to take us to the next level and hopefully start playing out this summer. Upright and/or electric bass is fine. Think smaller venues and not hard rock. Song genre breakdown is around: 20% jazz standards/American songbook 10% blues 20% country 10% 50's rock 40 % pop and rock 60's to today ***All tunes are covers, but no need to be exact replicas of the originals, a few original tunes will eventually be added, but mostly a cover band*** We would eventually like to be able to do an entire gig in any of the above listed genres for added flexibility. Currently have vocalist-guitar player and keyboard player. There will fun, upbeat tunes, but also some slower tunes. Should be able to read chords and make your own walking bass lines to the more uptempo pieces. Moderate to advanced player is desired. Not a good situation/song list for a beginning player. Someone with daytime flexibility for weekday gigs and some night/weekend availability would be great. No gigs are booked yet. A recently retired person, a person with a flexible schedule or a house wife/husband would be a great fit. Age/gender not important, but maturity, reliability and non-drug user are required. Easy to get along with and no ego is also highly desired. Please send some background on yourself and your availability.Any recordings or videos would be great and we would respond in kind. We are happy to provide more info and answer any questions. We would want to meet you and have a conversation first and then have a rehearsal to see if we are a good fit. If you hate any of the genres listed, then you will probably not be a good fit or happy for very long. Thanks for your time! Sorry for the long post, but we want to narrow the applicant pool and get a lot of info out there right out of the gate. We are easy going, good sense of humor, competent and work at making our songs sound good while not taking ourselves too seriously! Making music should be fun after all. PS - We currently rehearse once a week.
