Welcome! K9 Memorial Park is hosting a K9 5K this summer and is looking for enthusiastic dog lovers to volunteer for the following positions: 1. Parking Lot Attendant (4 positions) The parking lot attendant will be responsible for providing a smooth flow of traffic to all motor vehicles that are entering, parking & exiting the parking area. 2. Registration Verification Agent (4 positions) The registration verification agent will be responsible for ensuring positive verifications are made at the time of check in. 3. Temperature Check Agent (2 positions) The temperature check agent will be responsible for taking a contactless temperature check of all persons participating in the event. Any person(s) demonstrating flu-like symptoms will not be allowed into the accessible event area. 4. Road Safety Agent (10 positions) The road safety agent will be responsible for ensuring that all predetermined road closures remain intact. The road safety agent will alert local authorities if motorists attempt to bypass road closure devices and enter the race route. 5. Groundskeeper (2 positions) The groundskeeper will be responsible for ensuring that the registration area, dog relief area, parking area and entry area remain clear of trash & debris. The groundskeeper will be responsible for removing all trash & litter left behind in the aforementioned areas. 6. Event Security Agent (2 positions) The event security agent will be responsible for ensuring the safety & security for all event attendees. Duties include monitoring traffic along the race route, enforcing security related event policies and all other special functions instructed by security supervisor. The event is scheduled to run from 8 am - 12 pm and will be hosted in Tiverton, Rhode Island. Volunteers will be expected to provide their own means of transportation to and from the event. Uniforms will be provided to volunteers prior to the event. Volunteers are also expected to have a working & reliable cellphone to receive communications from event staff. Food and beverages will be provided to staff and volunteers on site. Professionalism and responsible behavior is expected to be demonstrated by all volunteers at all times due to the large scope of the event. All applicants that meet the required qualifications will be scheduled for an in person interview in the upcoming weeks. If selected, applicants will be required to submit to a national background check prior to event start date. Method of compensation will be discussed at time of interview.
