Ironwood Pig Sanctuary is currently looking for candidates to fill PT Watering positions. PT WATERING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Tasks include: watering pigs, cleaning up pens, scrubbing water bowls, pools, automatic waterers and bailing wallows. This is a PT permanent position - 25-30 hrs per week. Occasionally there will be additional sanctuary tasks that come up less frequently in the watering position. Shift in the summer is 7:30AM - 1:30PM (approx) 4-5 days a week/weekend - May include holidays Shift in the winter is 8AM - 1:30PM (approx) 4-5 days a week/weekend - May include holidays REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES: * You must have your own reliable vehicle to get to work. * You must be punctual and reliable and rarely miss work * You must be a fast learner and work well with others. * Must be able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions * Must be able to work at least one weekend day and possibly holidays. * Must be able to endure long hours on your feet in outside conditions - the sanctuary is spread over 15 acres. * Must be willing to work directly with pigs and feel comfortable with them. * No experience necessary, we will train the right person. The Ironwood Pig Sanctuary is a premier pot-bellied pig sanctuary in a rural area of Pinal County in Marana, AZ. We are one of the few pig sanctuaries in the state of AZ and by some experts, we are the largest pot-bellied pig sanctuary in the United States, currently housing over 650 pigs and regularly taking in over 85 pigs a year. We take in unwanted and abused pigs primarily from Arizona, with a few from surrounding states. We have rescued well over 1,500 pigs in the 18 years of our existence. The Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) and is accredited by the American Sanctuary Association. We offer temporary and long-term employment, medical, dental and vision by 90 days for FT employees working more than 30+ hrs a week, and up to 40 hours of accrued paid sick/vacation time each year. We are in a remote area northwest of Tucson in Marana, AZ - so only those living in northwest Tucson, Red Rock, Marana, Avra Valley, Catalina, Eloy, Casa Grande, or Florence areas are close enough for a reasonable drive to the sanctuary. We are less than 1 hour's drive from all the above areas.
