Sam needs a calm and loving home

Description

Meet Sam, he is a Great Dane and is neutered. He’s super sweet and the gentlest boy ever. He is about 4.5years old and is wonderful with everyone. He has demonstrated a slight prey drive with cats but doesn’t want to actually do anything, just chase and then sniff and jump around at them lol. He’s a lover and very submissive to people and other dogs. He needs a calm place to call home because he is such a gentle soul and seems to get a little stressed if small children or other dogs are being loud and rambunctious so he should only go to a home with older children and pretty lazy fur siblings. He’s happiest curled up on the couch or bed snuggling with his people. An ideal situation for Sam is one where he has someone home during most of the day who is happy to shower him with affection when he comes looking for it which isn’t constant. He has been crate trained but doesn’t need to be in a crate for any reason. He’s fully potty trained and doesn’t chew up anything. He’s a pretty great boy. You’re probably wondering why we’re looking for a home for him... We feel like he is overwhelmed here and often times find that he’s most comfortable if we let him go into one of the bedrooms to relax. We have other dogs that play a lot and get pretty rowdy, he tells them off by kind of howling at them. We also have small children and while Sam is perfect with them, it’s obvious to us that he’s stressed when they’re around. The solution always seems to be to shut him in a room so he can be comfortable and we’re just feeling like there’s got to be a better situation for him where he can feel the same comfort and calm in someone’s living room that he feels in our bedrooms. Please text with any questions. There is a rehoming fee.
