playing through jazz standards

Hi, I'm a keyboard player interested in playing through jazz standards with other musicians, doing instrumental covers in general (modern or classic pop/rock/r&b etc). I'm not the most technically proficient jazz player, looking to improve through experience. I perform regularly in pop/rock cover band context, but not jazz. Recently I've been listening to livestreams by this pianist Ben Patterson, who plays in a sort of straight ahead style ala Oscar Peterson and that's been inspiring me to try to clean up my jazz chops. Mainly seeking instrument that can do melody (horns, guitar), but open to bass. Down to play virtually (exchange audio files), or irl in rehearsal studio and/or outdoors (i have a portable keyboard) I replied to a guitar player on here last sunday, but I think he deleted his post.
