Breath work, sauna and cold plunge to optimize your nervous system How to optimize your nervous system The majority of us have had our nervous systems hijacked, leaving us in a constant state of fight or flight, also known as the sympathetic nervous system. When our bodies are in this state for a prolonged period of time we begin to experience stress, burnout, exhaustion, etc. Our bodies are left in a state of dis-ease. Challenging practices make us more adaptable and help us master new skills. Practices like breath work and hot/cold immersion can help rewire our brains. Discipline is the path to freedom and consistency creates habits that build momentum for success in our lives. Total Reboot Breakdown James Fryer, LMT, NMT, of JDF Integrated Health will guide us through several practices that will put our mind, body and nervous systems back into homeostasis, our natural rhythmic state. Event Includes: BrunchEducational talkBreath Work techniques20 minute infrared sauna sessionCold PlungeGuided meditationJames will begin with an introduction and eduction on how to incorporate breath work and hot/cold exposure to control your stress, anxiety and better manage your busy life. Next he’ll walk us through a variety of breath work exercises. Then aach participant will receive 20 minutes in an infrared sauna followed by a cold water immersion in the Cold Plunge. As you enter the cold water your body will jump into a fight or flight state. By incorporating the breath work practices we just learned you will begin to train yourself to be responsive and adaptable to the environment, instead of reactive and irrational. Brunch will be provided by a local chef and is included in the price. Ebb & Float will be closing our facility for this group to share an intimate place for a total reboot. This event will be limited to 12 participants. About James James Fryer is a licensed massage therapist and certified neuromuscular therapist. He's trained in neurolymphatic techniques and is a certified breath coach. He's has been coaching clients to move better, explore health, and how to get back to optimal health since 2008.
