Join us Thursday, April 15th from 5:30-7:30pm for a wine tasting with Lauren Luquet with Luquet Wine Co.
Lauren will be pouring wines from Carboniste which is a modern, bubbly expression of California made by hand with the highest level of attention and care. After meeting at UC Davis, Dan and Jaqueline Person worked around the world, then around California. These expereiences informed their perspectives on winemaking. Dan worked for Schramsberg Vineyards, making traditional sparkling wines from Caifornia grapes. Based on that experience Dan decided there was a need for a new interpretation of California sparkling wine. Jaqueline was concurrently making still wines from a vareity of terroirs across the Golden State, terroirs that have inspired the vineyard selections for Carboniste. Carboniste is a true small-production, family owned winery; they touch every bottle at least three times during it's production.
She will also be pouring wines from POE which was founded by Samantha Sheehan in 2009 after being inspired by the wines of Burgundy and Champagne. The goal is not not replicate Burgundy, but rather create alluring, vineyard specific, age-worthy wines revealing the beautiful terroir of California. She produces top notch, small quantities of: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier under the POE label.
We will be tasting four sparkling wines from Carboniste and three wines from the POE label on this evening. We are excited for you to taste these wines with us...Cheers!
