Our non-profit Center has been online / virtual for a year, and we are finally moving out of our office. Our records will be housed with a Board Member and our Finance Director, our clothing/ books/ materials will be donated, and we will be delivering diapers to our moms & families we help with. Our staff works remotely via Zoom, call, text etc. Our employees only enter once a month apiece to gather supplies, and we use Covid- safe procedures (cleaning, masks, distancing, sanitizer/ gloves) when anyone is in the office. We need a SUPER HELPER/ organizer/ de-clutter person to help with the clean-out of the office. * The offices have files in drawers that need to be reviewed, organized, labeled, sorted and boxed for movement to storage. * Many older donated items need to be sorted, bagged for either trash haul-away or donation to Goodwill/ Twice Loved Clothing/ Salvation Army, etc. * Our "clothes closet" with gently-used clothing needs to be emptied out with all infant/ toddler / moms clothing packaged up according to size/ gender, again for donation to other non-profits. * We have an assortment of books to donate, diapers to donate, etc. * Furniture in the office (desk/ tables/ chairs) will remain with the building owner/ landlord. The work will take about 3 weeks start to finish. (you and our Finance person will coordinate to meet together and tackle this as a team). Hours will be agreed on together, but generally from 9 am to 2:30 pm M-F, and occasional weekends are best for us, thanks! * We are a non-profit on a super tight budget, so we can pay $15- $20/ hour (DOE). Coffee, water, snacks, happy music and a pleasant environment! * You'll be paid by check or bill pay directly from our corporate account, 1099 basis as a direct contractor. * If you are looking for "service hours" as a community project, we are happy to provide that and document/ sign-off your work with us. * If you are a parent of a little one (0 to 3 years old), we will gladly also give you clothing/ books/ diapers for your little one(s). About us: Our 35- year old organization in the Alum Rock neighborhood of San Jose helps women at the most critical time in their lives- when they face an unexpected pregnancy. We help women, their partners and spouses, and children from "birth to beyond" by providing programs, counseling, material aid and serving as their central point of connection to all community aid. We help women who are homeless, in shelters or transitional housing, in broken homes and relationships. Our clients range from young teens through older moms, across all faiths and all ethnic groups. We provide all services 100% free of charge, and our funding comes directly from individual donors. We are very passionate about our Center, the women and children we help, and serving in our community. If you have drive, passion and want to roll up your sleeves, we'd love to talk with you.
