Updated: 10 p.m., Saturday SARASOTA, FL — Nine people were rescued from a Sarasota Bay boat fire Saturday morning, Sarasota police shared on Facebook. The 24-foot vessel was about 350 yards west of the 10th Street boat ramp when the fire broke out, police said. All nine passengers were rescued and brought to shore safely. There were no injuries, police said. Citizens assisted the Sarasota Police Department's Marine Patrol Unit, Sarasota County's Emergency Services and the town of Longboat Key with the rescue, police said.
