LINDENHURST, NY — A Lindenhurst bar was forced to close for the night and two people were arrested after an inspection found multiple violations, including employees not wearing masks, Thursday night, according to Suffolk police.
Police, along with the New York State Liquor Authority Investigator, Village of Lindenhurst Fire Marshal, and Village of Lindenhurst Building Inspector, conducted the inspection at La Terraza Bar & Grill on 543 West Hoffman Avenue, at 10:15 p.m., police said.
After the inspection, the owner of the bar, 38-year-old Gustavo Diaz, of Amityville, and a security guard, 40-year-old Miguel Pichardo-Sosa, of Bay Shore were both arrested, police said.
Diaz was charged with ABC Law: disorderly premise, unlawfully dealing with fireworks and dangerous fireworks, two counts of NYS Executive Law: employees not wearing masks and indoor lack of facial covering by patrons, police said.
Pichardo-Sosa was charged with NYS General Business Law: unlicensed security guard and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
In all, the New York State Liquor Authority issued 24 SLA violations and the Village of Lindenhurst issued 15 combined building, fire, and code violations, police said.
The business was closed for the night. The two arrested will be arraigned at a later date.
