The Chinatown Merchants Association is pleased to host a classical concert performed by four internationally acclaimed musicians. The Chinatown Merchants Association is pleased to host a classical concert performed by four internationally acclaimed musicians. Angela Lee, the head of this group, wanted to help the community since it has been undergoing such horrific Anti Asian attacks. To counteract this situation, Angela and other musicians will feature beautiful music to bring calmness to this moment in time. Come prepared to enjoy this soothing music to fill your heart with love and caring. Grant will be closed to traffic on Grant from California to Washington streets for its regular Chinatown Walkways Weekends program Background of the musicians: Nancy Zhou is the 2018 Shanghai Isaac Stern Violin Competition winner! She performs internationally and teaches master and private classes. Nancy made her orchestral debut at the young age of 13 in her hometown, San Antonio. From there, she went on to perform in Munich, Stockholm, St. Petersburg, and Shanghai, to name just a few of the global cities. Emma Votpek has been the 1st violinist in the Hawaii Symphony since 2004. She also performs as a violinist with the SF Ballet and the San Francisco Symphony. She will be playing the viola for our performance. She is an educator and mentor to many young promising musicians. Lisa and Angela Lee are two sisters of a trio of internationally recognized and award-winning performing siblings. All 3 are graduates of The Curtis Institute, the Juilliard School, Yale, and Harvard. Lisa performs as a violinist while Angela plays the cello. They are both avid Chamber music musicians who compose and are educators.
