Description
MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack fire and police, and New Hampshire State Police responded to a reported vehicle into a tree on the F.E. Everett Turnpike southbound on Saturday.
First responders arrived at the scene and found a single vehicle that was heavily damaged that had left the roadway just south of Exit 10 southbound onramp. One person, a 17-year-old from Nashua, who was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police closed the right breakdown lane for three hours as they investigated the accident that occurred at approximately 8 a.m.
The New Hampshire Medical Examiner was dispatched to the scene.
The scene remained active until approximately 11 a.m. when the vehicle was removed.
The location of the accident is the same location as a fatal accident that occurred in July 2019, when Courtney Favazzo of Lowell, Massachusetts, crashed her Toyota RAV4 into a tree. It is marked by a roadside memorial.
Additional information will be updated as the name of the victim is released by state police.
