Press release from the University of Minnesota Extension: April 9, 2021 The City Nature Challenge has grown from a friendly competition between the California Academy of Sciences and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County to a global celebration of urban biodiversity.  By documenting the plants and animals that live nearby, you can contribute to a vast data set that will help inform conservation decisions.  This year's  City Nature Challenge is happening May 4-9, 2021. You can participate on the iNaturalist website. For both new and experienced citizen scientists, participating is easy.  If you live in or visit the 13-county Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, you can share your observations of nature.
