Fairbanks Towing & Recovery is Now Hiring Tow Truck Operators for All Shifts If you are mechanically-inclined and like a challenging career where no two days are ever the same, this may be the job for you. If you like a fast-paced environment and working outdoors all year long, then keep reading. In addition to towing, we also perform winch-outs, jump starts, tire changes, fuel deliveries and lock-outs. We are willing to train the right candidates. Must be willing and able to assist with truck servicing and maintenance. 1. A clean driving history and criminal history a must as we work with law enforcement agencies to perform impounds. You must also pass a pre-employment drug test. 2. You also must live relatively close to our shop that is located off Peger Road. Because of our response requirements, you need to live within 10 minutes of our shop location. 3. Towing experience not required; we will train the right candidate that possess mechanical ability, commonsense, honesty and a hard work ethic. Knowledge of automotive maintenance and a willingness to learn are essential. 4. We are looking for folks to cover all shifts, either full-time or part-time. 5. While a Class-B is preferred, it is NOT a requirement. 6. You must be willing and prepared to work outside in all weather conditions as well as be able to accurately complete required paperwork. This job also requires sitting, standing, squatting, lifting, and climbing. It's quite physical. 7. Pay will be discussed during interviews but is a combination of hourly plus commissions. Be aware that the conditions are grueling, the hours are grueling and oftentimes the customers that we serve are not having their best day.
