Unfortunately, finances are not allowing for us to keep a hold on this guy and time doesn’t allow for me to work with him as much as he needs. This is ‘Saturn’ or ‘Ike’. He is a 9 year old ex-racehorse who still behaves like a current runner. He had an injury from the track but has since healed and been rehabed and doing great. I don’t believe he would be great for high level eventing or jumping but he has potential for lower level. He is smart, sometimes too smart for his own good, stubborn, and has an attitude. If he is not handled and worked with regularly he gets pushy and will literally push you over. If he’s regularly worked with he is much sweeter. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to put much work into him and he’s gotten a little fiesty lately. I would NOT recommend him to new owners/beginners as he needs somebody who knows what they are doing. He stands straight tied well, cross ties are scary though, lifts his feet fine when he’s in routine work, and grooms fine. He loves water and will take the water hose and drink from it. He truly is a sweetheart and deserves somebody who can work with him regularly as I think he’s just acting out because he’s bored. He is a hard keeper, I have him on grain, cool calories, unlimited hay/grazing, and alfalfa cubes. He’s been wormed regularly and I gave his yearly shots in January. He needs his feet done but I can always get that done for you. Please feel free to message me for questions. He’s a sweetie and deserves someone with time.
