Please apply here: TITLE: NURSERY FULFILLMENT ASSOCIATE ABOUT US: Carnivero is a world class carnivorous plant and tropicals nursery based out of Austin, TX. We are primarily ecommerce based and will be expanding to onsite sales later this year. Our mission is to inspire wonder and appreciation of nature through amazing plants. ABOUT THE ROLE: We’re looking for a candidate with a high level of accountability, strong work ethic and can-do attitude. They will be driven to go the extra mile to ensure plant health and customer satisfaction. We are a small company, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment, wearing multiple hats and rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. Your primary responsibility will be inventory management, order fulfillment and packing/shipping of orders through our website and other online sales channels. You'll also be performing general nursery maintenance tasks such as potting, weeding and watering. Over time, you may have the opportunity to learn about breeding, propagation and other advanced techniques such as tissue culture. The ideal candidate will take great pride in growing top quality plants. You will care deeply about our customer experience and pay great attention to detail in packing and shipping. We are looking for a candidate that has a deep love for plants and that has the hunger to learn rapidly. You’ll be working among a team with over 50 years of experience growing carnivorous plants and other rare tropicals. We have studied carnivorous plant habitats worldwide and implemented techniques learned from nurseries around the world. This is a full-time position. Temp to permanent hire with a 90 day trial period. You'll need to provide your own transport to our nursery headquarters located in the Oak Hill area of southwest Austin. Qualifications: -A love for plants -Ability to follow and remember detailed directions -High school, GED, or equivalent diploma -High attention to detail -Strong learning ability and growth mindset -Works well in a team -Good communication skills -Ability to understand customer needs -Solid computer skills -Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds -Encyclopedic memory to quickly develop an understanding of distinguishing features between different plant species and varieties. Bonus: -1+ years growing experience with carnivorous plants, orchids, aroids or other tropicals. -Order fulfillment experience -Experience with online store management -Bilingual (Spanish speaking) -Previous nursery experience Pay: $14.00 to $17.00 /hour depending on experience Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Paid time off Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay COVID-19 considerations: We take employee safety very seriously especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
