Description

*Koda is actually in Arizona but we are willing to meet up with serious buyers either in Yuma or somewhere around San Diego. This is Koda. He is: A Malamute/husky mix (seems to be more malamute) About a year old Around 80lbs UTD on shots, including rabbis Microchipped Not neutered Housebroken While super cute and friendly, he needs a solid pack leader who knows how to be patient and persistent in training a malamute. Like all malamutes, he can be stubborn. He's not really aware of his size/weight and he jumps up and/or nips when excited. In the 8 months that we’ve had him, we got him down from play bites to play nips but we can’t seem to get the nipping to stop altogether. Also, even though we’ve given him a variety of toys, he keeps chewing up the kids’ toys. For these reasons, we’re rehoming him and recommend he go a home with no small children. Koda is very social. He loves to be included in whatever his people are doing and he loves to make sure he greets each person when you return home. We have him sleep in his crate at night but I think he would also be happy snuggling with his (grown) human. He would love to have a large, fenced-in yard to run in. He loves going on car rides, playing fetch, playing in water and popping bubbles. We’ve taken him camping, to the beach and the snow and he has a great time exploring (on leash). From what we’ve seen, I think he would do just fine with other dogs although his large size can intimidate smaller breeds. Also, he needs a grain-free food as grains go right through him. We have set a slightly higher rehoming fee to make sure he goes to a home that is serious about caring for a malamute. Keep in mind his rehoming fee includes his large crate, food, treats, brush, toys, leash and harness.
